How to Remove Pit Stains
If you’ve ever wondered how to remove pit stains, I have a simple two-ingredient process for you. There are a variety of methods you can use, this is my favorite because I’ve found it to be the simplest and most effective. Why does it work? The liquid and enzymes in the Laundry Detergent Spray help to break down the deodorant build-up and then the Oxygen Whitener whitens and brightens.
Here are the simple steps:
Laundry Detergent Spray Starter Kit / Glass Refill Bottle / Oxygen Whitener
Gather your ingredients:
- Laundry Detergent Spray
- Oxygen Whitener
- small fabric brush – you can even use a clean, repurposed toothbrush
Spray 1-2 sprays of Laundry Detergent Spray on the pit of the shirt
Sprinkle with Oxygen Whitener
Use a small brush to work the liquid and powder together – feel free to add a little warm water if you’d like. If the stains are bad, soak in warm water for 30 minutes and up to overnight.
Launder as usual – I just add one or two more sprays in the spray to the washer and wash. Dry in the dryer and enjoy your pit stain-free shirts!
Quick Tip: Look for aluminum-free deodorant, the chemical reaction to the aluminum in anti-perspirant makes pit stains worse.
If you haven’t tried Laundry Detergent Spray, this is a great time to try it. It’s an ultra-concentrated laundry detergent AND pre-treater. All you need is 5 sprays for a whole load of clean laundry – just spray directly on your clothes and wash. That’s it! All 3 of my kids can easily wash their own clothes with this simple, mess-free sprayer.
